At the encouragement of my dear wife, The Boy has started calling me "Mike".
We were wandering through the old part of central Shanghai, and Mari called my name. Not hearing her above the din, I carried on oblivious and she had to repeat herself several times. Enough, in fact, for The Boy to pick up the new association. He's since called me "Daddy" more often then "Mike" but Mari keeps prompting him to go to the latter.
Like Bart and Lisa Simpson calling their dad "Homer"!
All I wanted was to be "Papa". How did it get to this.
